The challenge
No e-commerce plugin handles a lottery. BoomHolidays needed WooCommerce to do something it wasn't designed for: let customers buy entries into prize draws, manage the draw logic, and support live events where winners are announced in real time. A buggy draw, a payment error at the wrong moment, or a system that buckled during a live event would have been commercially and reputationally catastrophic. Speed mattered — correctness mattered more.
