A bespoke Laravel SaaS platform for a retail research business — funnel management, gated report downloads, and a full members panel.
The challenge
Research businesses live and die by their lead funnel. RetailEconomics needed fine-grained control: some reports free (for lead capture), some gated behind registration, some behind paid membership. The funnel had to be trackable — who downloaded what, from which source, at which stage. And the members panel had to reflect the quality of the product. No standard CMS or membership plugin handled the full model without significant compromise.
What we did
Custom Laravel build
Built in PHP/Laravel for the flexibility to implement the exact funnel logic without fighting a framework designed for something else.
Funnel management system
The full lead-to-member funnel: free downloads with lead capture, gated premium content, a paid upgrade path, and admin tracking by report and user.
Gated report downloads
A secure, logged download system across free, registered and paid tiers, with access control enforced correctly at each level.
Members & admin panels
A clean member portal plus back-office tooling to manage reports, view download analytics and manage members.
