The challenge
Rooms2U runs a custom-built marketplace for portable rooms — offices, portacabins, pods and storage. The platform worked, but the infrastructure underneath it was the risk: a hand-rolled setup with a single point of failure on the database, unclear staging, and a hosting arrangement that wasn't built to grow.
What we did
Architecture review
Mapped the existing Cloudflare / Nginx load-balancer / dual web-server setup and identified the database single-point-of-failure and other risks.
AWS target design
A VPC-based EC2 + managed RDS architecture with private encrypted networking, S3 behind CloudFront for static content, and retained Cloudflare for near-instant DNS cutover.
Reliability & recovery
Image-based backups and monitoring bringing time-to-recovery under an hour, with a cost-justified path to full failover.
Cost-modelled, zero-downtime migration
Infrastructure sized to current usage with headroom to grow, migrated in phases with no downtime.
Technical & strategic SEO
Alongside the infrastructure work, technical SEO and strategic advice to strengthen the platform's search performance.
