cFone operated an online VoIP shop built on WooCommerce. Every time a customer purchased a phone number or package, backend staff had to manually set up the account — selecting and assigning the number, activating the service, and configuring the customer’s account. This process was expensive in both time and resource, and created bottlenecks as order volumes grew.
Trisec developed a bespoke WooCommerce plugin that connected cFone’s shop directly to their telephony APIs. The plugin enables customers to browse, search, and select available phone numbers from a live API feed — filtering by area code, number patterns, and cost — before adding them to their basket alongside a service package.
The plugin handles the full purchase journey: once a customer selects a number, it is reserved via the API to prevent double-booking. Upon successful payment, the number is automatically booked and provisioned to the customer’s account — no manual staff intervention required. Trisec also built a recommended products system that surfaces relevant hardware (phones, modems) based on the package purchased, increasing average order value.
The integration was built with resilience in mind, including error handling for API timeouts and payment failures, ensuring reservations are released cleanly if an order does not complete.
