ICL needed a customer-facing portal that would give their clients direct, self-service access to critical shipment information. Previously, customers had limited visibility into their consignments once they left origin — requiring manual contact with ICL staff to get status updates, obtain quotes, or understand customs clearance progress. This created unnecessary overhead for ICL’s operations team and a frustrating experience for their customers.
Trisec partnered with ICL to design and build a comprehensive customer portal that centralises shipment management. The platform provides real-time shipment tracking displayed on interactive maps, an integrated booking system, instant quote requests, and live customs status monitoring — all accessible by customers without needing to contact ICL directly.
The portal was built using ReactJS on the frontend for a fast, intuitive user experience. Redis was implemented for caching to ensure rapid data loading even under high traffic. The backend was built with PHP and Laravel, connected to a MariaDB database — providing reliability, strong query performance, and a well-structured data layer. Trisec took a ground-up approach, architecting the system from initial concept through to launch, with all features tailored to ICL’s specific operational requirements.
Trisec continues to develop and refine the portal, introducing new features and improvements in response to ICL’s evolving business needs and customer feedback.
