This year, expect a surge in decentralized applications (dApps) that harness blockchain technology for innovative use cases. While still in its early stages, Web3’s potential to redefine data ownership and privacy is undeniable. This year I predict that we will see many new and innovative dApps.

4. Website Performance Optimization – Emphasis on performance and speed

Website performance optimization is a cornerstone of modern web development. Google’s emphasis on metrics like Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) has made Core Web Vitals critical for SEO and user experience. Faster websites not only rank higher in search results but also provide a better visitor experience.

To stay competitive, businesses must prioritize regular performance audits and implement optimization techniques, such as image compression, lazy loading, and the use of content delivery networks (CDNs). As Google continues to influence web development priorities, I predict that performance will remain a top trend.

For now you need to know that Progressive Web Apps bridge the gap between websites and mobile applications, offering offline functionality, enhanced performance, and features like push notifications. Companies like Starbucks and Pinterest have already adopted PWAs to great success, providing seamless experiences for users across platforms.

PWAs are particularly beneficial for businesses aiming to reach both web and mobile audiences without developing separate native apps. As more businesses recognize their advantages, I believe that PWAs will likely become a dominant trend in web development.
